Review! Charm School Graphique Vol. 1 by Elizabeth Watasin

Meet magical witch girl Bunny, a good teen witch happily attending Haunt High, drinking Ghost Shakes at Shivers, and dancing her supernatural midnights away at cemetery spook fetes. Dean is her perfect greaser, vampire girlfriend, but beyond hotrods and motorcycles lies something more in the Enchanted Forest: fairies. And even among such ancient, paranormal denizens, they've someone to fear, namely the notorious heart breaker and home wrecker, the dark fairy, Fairer Than.

With a cross-dressing vampire and an adorable witch, how could I not like this comic? Bunny, the good li'l teen witch, lives with her hideous aunties in the occult town of Little Salem. She and her friends Pippita the red li'l demon and Blanchet the voodoo princess go to school at Haunt High. Bunny's girlfriend is biker vampire Dean, whom her heart goes "dum dum ditty" for.

From the beautiful cover to the quirky storylines, Charm School Graphique Vol. 1 is a real treat. I admit I'm a bit jealous of Elizabeth's artistic talent. Her drawings catch the emotion of each scene beautifully. And I love that she uses different font types to catch the characters' unique voices.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
